Winterlude (Bal de Neige) is an annual winter festival that celebrates Canada’s rich artistic and cultural diversity. This project is a rebranding of the current festival’s visual identity.
A particular focus of the project is an equal treatment of English and French text, and a systematic application of the identity across different forms and sizes.
PROCESS
The visual design incorporates the spirit of the festival’s colourful nightlife that paints Canada’s dreary and grey winters. Using the motifs of snow and ice, a more experimental and abstract approach ensures the visual identity remains familiar, but fresh.
The initial research consists of a critical reflection on the festival’s current identity.

DELIVERABLES
The Winterlude (Bal de Neige) festival rebranding is displayed through a poster, e-tickets, and a program. The final concept is an abstraction of familiar imagery of the festival. As Winterlude caters to a diverse audience from all parts of the world, the bright and approachable visuals reflect the festival’s goal to bring joy and light during the winter times.
